web 2.0 characteristics

In pairs, please do the following:

  1. Learn about the definition(s) of Web 2.0 here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2
  2. Make a list of at least 10 new terms related to Web 2.0 and find good definitions for them. Send an email to the class containing these definitions.
  3. Read about the educational uses of Web 2.0 here: http://elearningtech.blogspot.com/2008/03/web-20-applications-in-learning.html
  4. Visit the following web sites and choose 5 Web 2.0 applications that you have not previously used.

  5. Create accounts on the applications (if necessary).
  6. Try out each application enough so that you roughly understand what it does.
  7. Send an email to the entire class with your list of 5 Web 2.0 applications (and URLs) and a brief description.
  8. Prepare a very short report to the rest of the class on the 5 applications: what you liked, what you didn't, and what you learned..
  9. By the end of class, let the instructor know which Web 2.0 application you would like to do your presentation on.
